Summary
Morson Edge are recruiting for a Industrial sewing machinist/Trainee Sail Maker to join thier clients team in Devonport, Plymouth.
This is a hands-on role within a safety-critical, industrial environment, with full training provided and the opportunity to gain recognised qualifications.
Main Duties
Manufacture and fit radiological containment materials
Produce protective weather screens and covers
Manufacture soft furnishings and fabric-based products
Produce gaskets using materials such as rubber, Sentinel and Thermiculite
Work as part of a team and support day-to-day operations
Assist with problem solving on tasks as required
Follow health and safety procedures at all times
Requirements
Willingness to work in a safety-critical environment, including occasional work in radiological areas
Flexible approach to shift work and overtime
Good team working and communication skills
A practical mindset and willingness to learn
Experience with textiles or fabrics would be beneficial but not essential
Qualifications
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
Additional Information
£19.36 per hour (PAYE), 35 std hours a week, Shift work and overtime will be a requirement for this role
6 month initial contract
Training provided, with progression linked to NVQ Level 2 and 3
Opportunity to gain experience in a specialist manufacturing environment
Security Clearance
Successful candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain clearance
