Summary
Detailed job description and main responsibilities To support the safeguarding team and Trust to facilitate the implementation of recommendations from Safeguarding Practice Reviews/Serious Incidences To establish and maintain effective working relationships with our partner agencies such as Children’s Social Care, Education and the Police. To support Trust staff at case conference/strategy meetings and attend, as required, in complex safeguarding issues. To represent the Trust at case conferences and related meetings as required. To support staff to write reports for case conference, strategy meetings ensuring that reports are accurate and appropriate, keeping the child central at all times Maintain professional development to a high level of expertise in relation to safeguarding. To have an understanding of the Child Death Overview Panel (CDOP) and the MARAC process across Essex and Hertfordshire. Assist in service delivery by taking account of service user’s views. To establish and maintain effective working relationship with the designated and named professionals for safeguarding outside of the Trust to provide a highly developed specialist safeguarding advisory service for the Princess Alexandra NHS Hospital Trust. To undertaking regular audits and analysis to inform practice and disseminate these findings with colleagues and other agencies as appropriate. To adhere to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct for Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors and be conversant with the scope of professional practice and NMC advisory papers. Undertake safeguarding supervision in line with the recommendations in the Working Together to Safeguard Children 2023.
