Based at Leeds General Infirmary within a large Teaching Hospital catering for a population of over 1 million people, and up to 3 million people in the wider region. We deliver care for a wide range of paediatric specialties, including but not limited to respiratory, diabetes, general surgery, oncology, neonates and neuromuscular. The CCRF is one of 5 integrated CRF sites within NIHR Leeds CRF which carries out high quality early stage and experimental clinical trials to help new treatments and tests reach patients more quickly. We are a 6 chair/bed research unit with dedicated clinical trials pharmacy and research laboratory support to deliver complex paediatric clinical trials. What you will bring to the role We are looking to recruit a proactive and self-motivated, resident doctor to work within the Children's Research and multi-disciplinary teams. You will demonstrate strong clinical judgement and acute care skills, with the ability to assess risk, prioritise clinical need and recognise when to seek senior support. Ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with children, young people, families and colleagues, working collaboratively within multidisciplinary research teams is essential. Strong organisational and problemsolving skills are required to manage competing clinical and research priorities, alongside an interest in teaching and supporting others. You will have a sound understanding of the principles of paediatric clinical research, including ethical and regulatory requirements and the conduct of UK clinical trials, with experience of working within a research environment that values patient safety and data integrity. Alongside this a clear commitment to highquality patient care and clinical governance will be evident through your engagement in audit, learning from error and service improvement.
