The Role

We’re growing our teams and hiring, Regulatory Investigators, you’ll Investigate serious concerns about Health and Care professionals, assess risk and make evidence-based decisions to protect the public whilst managing a varied caseload of ‘Registrant’ fitness to practise complaints.

This is a fast-paced and demanding role, requiring strong organisation, adaptability, and attention to detail. You will manage multiple, changing priorities whilst maintaining accurate records, using a Case Management System and apply regulation law to prepare case bundles for panel review.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Managing your own case load to identify, prioritise and escalate cases appropriately, including consideration for Interim Orders on high-risk cases.

- Continual evidence gathering, preparing case bundles ready for presentation to a panel within agreed timescales.

- Investigate and progress a varied caseload effectively, reviewing fitness to practice, misconduct and non-compliance against set professional standards.

- Provide sensitive case updates in a timely professional manner to stakeholders.

- Proactively chase information via outbound calling and email correspondence to progress cases effectively


You will work closely with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including:

Patients and members of the public
Courts and legal representatives
Police and safeguarding bodies
Other regulators and multi-agency partners


This Regulatory Investigator, role offers the opportunity to gain experience about regulatory and disciplinary law within the Health & Care professions we regulate. We are keen to hear from candidates with existing legal, case management, investigation or regulatory experience and candidates interested to gain experience in this field.



Person Specification

We’re looking for candidates that can:

- Work under pressure with minimal supervision, investigating, gathering, and evaluating evidence to ensure cases are prepared in line with SLA’s and KPI’s

- Communicate with a range of stakeholders with a clear confident, professional tone, via inbound and outbound calls, written correspondence, emails and in-person meetings, providing exceptional levels of customer service.

- Plan and organise own high-volume caseload effectively with minimal supervision.

- Identify, prioritise, and escalate high-risk cases appropriately.

- Use analytical decision-making with strong judgement skills to make sound, evidence-based decisions on case progression, Interim Orders and closure.

- Maintain accurate records using a range of technology, MS Outlook Word, Excel, Case Management Systems.

- Manage sensitive data confidentiality, adhering to guidelines, polices and regulation law.
