Summary
Support Worker - Criminal Justice System
Salary: £15 per hour
Location: Birmingham - Fixed Location
Hours: 28 hours per week (4 days; Monday - Thursday; 9:30am - 4:30pm)
Contract: 12 months
Our client is a Christian charitable organisation dedicated to supporting the transformation, development, and rehabilitation of individuals and families affected by the criminal justice system. They focus on those whose behaviours are often seen as challenging, working with them, their families, and the wider community to foster a positive and supportive environment. They are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Support Worker to join their small team, embedding the values of Hope, Enrichment, and Empowerment as they deliver a Prison and Community 'Second Chance' Project.
As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality, person-centred support to young people (14+) and adults up to 35+, both in custody and in the community. Your work will focus on rehabilitation, reintegration, and encouraging positive personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver one-to-one and group-based interventions in prison and community settings.
- Develop, implement, and regularly review individual Support Plans tailored to clients' needs.
- Conduct risk assessments and manage risks while ensuring safeguarding practices are adhered to.
- Maintain effective partnerships with probation services, prison staff, and other stakeholders to support positive pathways for clients.
- Maintain accurate and timely case records, adhering to compliance standards and procedures.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Proven experience working with young people and families within statutory or community contexts.
- Ability to build trust with individuals affected by serious violence.
- Strong case management and support planning skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Capability to work independently while being a proactive team member.
