What will your day look like?
As a Resort Safety Team Duty Manager, you’ll play a vital frontline leadership role in keeping Cleethorpes safe, welcoming and well‑managed for residents, visitors and businesses.
On any given day, you could be:
Leading and supervising a team of Resort Safety Officers, including seasonal staff, ensuring duties are effectively planned and delivered
Carrying out patrols of the resort, beach and town centre, responding to emerging risks such as tide times, crowd levels or weather conditions
Monitoring CCTV and coordinating responses to incidents, including emergencies where first aid may be required
Acting as the senior point of contact for the resort when on duty, liaising with partners such as Police, Coastguard, RNLI, local businesses and internal council teams
Supporting beach and water safety through proactive risk management and rapid response to hazards
Responding to concerns, enquiries or complaints from members of the public and stakeholders, finding practical, solution‑focused outcomes
Ensuring equipment, vehicles, medical supplies, lost property and cash are properly managed and recorded
Helping to protect the local environment, including working safely within sensitive and SSSI‑designated areas
It’s a hands‑on role where calm leadership, sound judgement and visible presence really matter.
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for a confident, resilient and people‑focused manager with experience of leading a frontline, place‑based service.
You’ll be someone who:
Has experience supervising and developing staff in a customer‑facing or safety‑critical environment
Can manage challenging situations, including conflict and incident response, with professionalism and empathy
Has a strong understanding of health & safety, environmental and equality legislation
Is comfortable providing technical advice around resort and beach safety
Communicates clearly and confidently with colleagues, partners and the public
Can organise, prioritise and adapt in a fast‑moving, operational environment
Is committed to high standards of customer service and public safety
You’ll also need:
A full UK driving licence
GCSEs (or equivalent)
Management qualification at ILM Level 3 (or equivalent experience)
IOSH certification
Willingness to work flexibly, including outside core hours
A standard DBS check

Rota‑based, including weekends and evenings and is annualised hours, 31.5 hours in the winter (1st October to 31st March) and 41 hours in the summer (1st April to 30th September).
