Hours of work are 7am – 7pm / 7pm – 7am, 4 on 4 off shift system (12 hour shifts – rotating through days and nights). Permanent
This is based near Old Leake - own transport will be required to get to site.
As an Assistant Shift Manager, you will be required to assist the Shift Manager in terms of health & safety, food safety, shift operation, productivity, labour utilisation, quality and process control. Ensuring that all technical standards are met. Striving for manufacturing excellence through people, plant and process maintaining customer satisfaction and service.
Job Responsibilities:
• Conduct shift GEMBA walks, ensuring safety, hygiene, and quality standards are met.
• Lead by example in promoting a safety first culture and enforcing procedural compliance.
• Maintain and communicate updates to safety plans, risk assessments, and safety actions.
• Ensure GMP, hygiene, and cleanliness standards are upheld across all areas.
• Perform red line checks and product panels each shift, taking corrective action when needed.
• Maintain accurate production, quality, and cleaning documentation.
• Monitor performance using SIC and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage labour to standard manning levels and address efficiency barriers.
• Oversee waste management, ensuring root causes are identified and reduction targets are met.
• Develop and empower staff through training, clear objectives, and ongoing performance support.
