Recycling Operatives Wanted

Tor Quarry | £12.85 per hour | 7am-4:30pm | Start 15th of May | Own transport required to apply for this opportutniy.

Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting Recycling Operatives to join a recycling team in Tor Quarry

This is a hands-on, role involving outdoor work in all weather conditions, sorting recyclable materials, and supporting general site operations.

Key Duties

  • Correctly sort different recyclable materials.

  • Hand-pick or machine-sort materials (paper, plastic, metal, glass) on conveyor belts, removing contaminants.

  • Load and unload recycling vehicles and record waste weights.

  • Inspect materials for contamination, identify hazardous items, and report issues.

  • Maintain a tidy and safe working environment.

Requirements

  • Must have own transport to access the site.

  • Must be able to lift heavy loads and be able to stand for long periods.

  • Ability to lift heavy items.

  • Basic numeracy skills and the ability to follow instructions.

  • Good attention to detail when identifying materials and contaminants.

  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and in dusty or noisy environments.

What We Offer

  • £12.85 per hour.

  • 7am-4:30pm working hours (days vary).

  • Supportive local team environment.

  • Start from 15th of May 2026.
