Birmingham Children's Trust, recently rated 'Good' by Ofsted, is seeking a highly motivated and task-centered Senior Social Work Assistant to join our dedicated Children in Care services. The primary purpose of this role is to support social workers in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of Birmingham's most vulnerable children and young people. You will work within an autonomous, high-performing organization dedicated to making a positive difference through quality practice and strong partnerships. This role involves providing practical day-to-day support to children and families, assisting with statutory duties, and ensuring the safety and well-being of children remain paramount.
Responsibilities:
Provide practical day-to-day support to children and their families through home visits and direct work within the family home or community
Assist social workers in supporting children in care and families currently subject to live care proceedings.
Assist in the completion of assessments that comply with statutory requirements to promote the well-being of children
Attend team meetings and service reviews to contribute positively to collective team goals.
Essentials:
Proven experience working with vulnerable children, young people, and families in a support or advisory role.
Strong knowledge of safeguarding processes and Children's services legislation.
Must share the Trust's commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Must be a car driver to navigate between office bases (Lifford House and One Avenue Road) and community visits.

This role requires an Enhanced DBS
