Summary

Assembly Technician

Location: Edinburgh

Salary: £13.50 - £14.00

We're recruiting Electronic Assembly Operatives to assemble, test and ship sophisticated radio communication equipment for a leading technology manufacturer. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on assembly experience, strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble and/or modify electrical and electronic equipment, including computers, test equipment, telemetering systems, electric motors and batteries
  • Assemble, test and prepare radio communication equipment for shipment
  • Read and follow build documentation, verbal instructions and written procedures
  • Use light fabrication equipment and torque tools safely and correctly
  • Enter and update data using basic computer applications
  • Maintain high quality and safety standards at all times
  • Rotate between various positions within the team as required by the business

Skills & Experience

  • 1-3 years' experience in electronic or electrical assembly (or similar hands-on manufacturing role)
  • Ability to read build documentation and follow technical instructions
  • Light computer skills with the ability to read/enter data
  • Quality and safety conscious with strong attention to detail
  • Good hand dexterity and confident working with light fabrication equipment
  • Soldering skills are an advantage
  • Able to operate torque equipment

Physical Requirements

  • Able to sit and/or stand for 8+ hours per shift (including overtime)
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs on a consistent basis
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment

Availability & Commitment

  • Must have a good attendance record
  • Able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week plus regular overtime, including weekend work, for the length of the assignment
  • Willing to rotate between roles/positions depending on business needs

Working Hours

  • Monday-Thursday: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
  • Friday: 7:00 AM - 12:00 PM
