Summary

Murray Recruitment are recruiting a Commercial Lead for our client based in Newhouse.

Role Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially astute professional to step into a key leadership role within a busy and growing team. Working predominantly across social housing contracts, the successful candidate will take ownership of commercial activity while leading, supporting and mentoring a team of Quantity Surveyors, a Trainee QS and Commercial Administration staff. This role will suit an experienced Commercial Manager or Lead QS, or an ambitious individual ready to take the next step in their career, who thrives in a high-volume environment and brings strong people management and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the commercial team, providing day-to-day support, guidance and mentoring.
Oversee commercial operations across mainly social housing contracts, with some additional commercial projects.
Manage and apply schedules of rates (SORs) across contracts.
Work with NHF percentage uplifts and reductions to ensure accurate commercial management.
Oversee pricing structures including price per property and price per void models.
Review and manage contract exclusions where required.
Work closely with the wider office team in Newhouse to ensure efficient commercial delivery.
Support and develop junior team members, encouraging progression and maintaining a positive team culture.
Ensure commercial processes are managed effectively within a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Skills & Experience
Previous experience as a Commercial Manager, Lead QS or in a similar senior commercial role.
Strong knowledge of rates and schedules of rates.
Experience within social housing contracts is highly desirable.
Understanding of NHF uplifts and reductions.
Experience working with price per property and price per void structures.
Exclusions experience would be advantageous.
Strong commercial awareness and the ability to manage a high-volume workload.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, mentor and develop a team.
A people-focused approach with a strong personality and the confidence to lead from the front.
