Summary
Great Gransden Preschool Playgroup is seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Early Years Practitioner to join our friendly team. If you’re passionate about supporting young children’s learning, development and wellbeing — and you thrive in a play based, child centred environment — we’d love to hear from you.
As part of our team, you’ll help create a safe, inclusive and stimulating environment where every child is valued, listened to and supported to flourish. You’ll work closely with colleagues, parents and carers to ensure each child receives high quality care and education tailored to their individual needs.
You will support the day to day running of the preschool and help provide high quality education and care in a safe, inclusive and stimulating environment for young children.
Safeguarding is central to everything we do. All staff are expected to actively contribute to a culture of safety, vigilance and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan and deliver engaging EYFS aligned activities
• Act as key person for a small group of children
• Complete observations and assessments (incl. 2 year check)
• Support children with SEN/disabilities (may include 1:1)
• Maintain a safe, clean, welcoming environment
• Follow all safeguarding procedures
• Support daily routines (mealtimes, setup/tidy up)
• Work collaboratively and attend training

What We’re Looking For
Essential:
• Level 2 Early Years qualification
• Experience with young children
• Understanding of child development (2–5)
• Knowledge of EYFS & safeguarding
• Strong communication skills
• Friendly, flexible team player
• GCSE C/Grade 4 or equivalent in English & Maths
Desirable:
• Level 3 qualification (or working towards it)
• Paediatric First Aid
• Basic IT confidence
