About Me & My Life
I am an active, positive man in my 40s living with a spinal cord injury (paralysed from the chest down). I value my independence and a well-organized routine. I’m a fan of good conversation, a relaxed home atmosphere, and I appreciate someone who can be professional while also being a "good fit" for my home. I live in Featherstone (WF7) in a home that I take pride in—it’s a clean, smoke-free, and welcoming environment.
What This Role Really Looks Like
This isn't just a "job"—it’s about becoming my hands and feet for a 3-day block every fortnight. We will spend a lot of time together, so I am looking for someone who is easy-going but knows when to be proactive.
• The Routine: You’ll assist me with everything from my morning/evening personal care and hygiene to hoist transfers and daily exercise routines.
• Household: I’m a fan of a tidy home and good food! You’ll be helping with meal prep and keeping things organized.
• Out & About: I have my own vehicle, so we’ll be heading out for appointments, shopping, or just a change of scenery. This is why a clean driving licence is a must.
Who You Are (The Perfect Fit)
I am looking for a "star" assistant. You don’t need to be a medical expert, as I will train you personally on every aspect of my care. However, you MUST be:
• Ultra-Reliable: On a 72-hour shift, I need to know 100% that you will show up and be on your game.
• A "Non-Smoker" Soul: My home is a strictly smoke-free zone.
• Detail-Oriented: Someone who notices if the coffee is running low or if a task needs doing before I have to ask.
• Respectful of Privacy: You’ll be living in my space for 3 days; understanding boundaries and maintaining my dignity is paramount.
