Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Crane Supervisor to join our team for a 2-year project based in London. This is a critical role that requires a dedicated professional to ensure the safe and efficient operation of lifting activities on-site. Responsibilities As a Crane Supervisor, your key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring that all lift plans and the Schedule of Common Lifts are up to date and adhered to.
- Conducting weekly inspections of all lifting accessories in compliance with LOLER regulations.
- Performing visual checks on all lifting accessories before each use and reporting any defects immediately.
- Maintaining an up-to-date record of all in-date certifications on-site.
- Ensuring all loads are lifted in accordance with the relevant Schedule of Common Lifts and their limitations.
- Establishing and maintaining a confirmed method of communication with other crane team members.
- Ensuring radios are fully charged and spare batteries are available at all times.
- Selecting appropriate lifting gear, attaching and detaching loads, and guiding the movement of loads using hand signals or radio communication.
Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must meet the following qualifications:
- Possession of a valid CPCS Crane Supervisor Card.
- In-date Safety Critical Medical Certificate.
- Strong understanding of lifting equipment and associated regulations.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Proven ability to identify hazards and implement appropriate safety measures.
- Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
Day-to-Day Your daily activities will include:
- Reviewing and updating lift plans and schedules.
- Inspecting lifting accessories and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Coordinating with crane operators and other team members to ensure smooth and safe lifting operations.
- Monitoring the site to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
