Summary
Hays Non-Qualified Finance are recruiting for a Senior Assistant Accountant on a 12-month fixed-term contract to support business-as-usual finance activities during a period of ERP implementation. This role has been created to provide stability and continuity while the permanent finance team focuses on the rollout of a new system.
The successful candidate will deliver hands-on support across core accounting activities, month-end close, and financial reporting. This role is well suited to an adaptable finance professional with strong technical fundamentals who can operate confidently in a changing environment and maintain control and accuracy throughout the transition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the month-end close, including journals, accruals, and prepayments
- Maintain accurate general ledger records and balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reporting
- Perform variance analysis and support financial commentary
- Contribute to forecasts, budgets, and ad-hoc financial analysis
- Support audit deliverables and finance control documentation
- Identify and escalate control or reporting risks
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years' experience in a general accounting or finance role, with strong exposure to month-end close, reconciliations, journals, and analysis. Experience within a manufacturing or operational environment is advantageous, as is familiarity with ERP systems or finance transformation projects.
