A specialist SEN school in Hulme is looking to appoint a skilled and committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team as soon as possible.
The Role:
You will be supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, which may include autism, complex learning difficulties, and additional behavioural needs. As an HLTA, you will play a key role in delivering tailored learning activities, leading small group sessions, and occasionally covering lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver planned lessons and interventions to individuals and small groups
- Support students with a range of SEN, adapting approaches to meet their needs
- Assist in the planning and preparation of learning activities
- Provide classroom cover when required
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment
Requirements:
- HLTA status or equivalent experience
- Strong experience working within an SEN setting
- Confident leading learning activities and managing behaviour positively
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
