Summary

Lecturer in Theatre

The School of Arts at Lancaster University is seeking to appoint a new Lecturer in Theatre. We especially welcome applications from candidates with practical expertise in theatre technologies, digital media, intermediality or related areas of theatre practice. This post will add to the development of our successful and highly ranked subject. You will join us as we undertake new curriculum developments that will address emerging trends and challenges in Theatre.

You will contribute to practice-based research and teaching within our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. This will include the development of new module content as well as supervisions of students’ practical work. You will also be expected to engage with local and regional stakeholders, contributing to community-based teaching initiatives and socially-engaged research.

The post is open to candidates with broad knowledge of theatre and performance who can contribute to both lecture- and studio-based teaching, as well as supervision of written and practice-based dissertations. The School of Arts is particularly interested in expanding the global and cultural reach of Theatre’s teaching and research. We are looking for colleagues who actively seek to address systemic inequalities within HE and the creative sectors, contributing to a culture of equity and support for underrepresented students.

You must be able to demonstrate an established or growing profile of excellent practice-based research. Finally, you will actively participate in Theatre’s everyday administrative tasks.

Informal enquiries are welcome and should be made to Dr. Cami Rowe, c.r.rowe@lancaster.ac.uk or Head of School Professor Emma Rose, e.rose@lancaster.ac.uk.
