Summary
A well-established and growing company is looking to appoint a proactive and hands-on Transport Manager to join their s business on the outskirts of Kidderminster.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role, combining transport planning, compliance, and customer interaction within a busy, fast-paced environment.
The Role
You’ll play a key part in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of transport operations, working closely with the Depot Manager. Responsibilities will include:
• Maximising route efficiency through strong geographical knowledge
• Managing vehicle maintenance schedules and bookings
• Monitoring driver compliance, including tachograph downloads and records
• Ensuring adherence to driving hours regulations and Working Time Directive
• Supporting the wider team with customer interaction, including answering calls and assisting at the trade counter
This is a hands-on position where no two days are the same, offering exposure to both operational and customer-facing aspects of the business.
About You
The ideal candidate will bring:
• CPC qualification and strong tachograph knowledge (essential)
• A solid understanding of driver compliance, WTD, and transport regulations
• Experience within a builders merchants, construction supply, or similar environment (highly desirable)
• Confidence dealing with customers both over the phone and face-to-face
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced setting
• A positive, “can-do” attitude with a willingness to support across the team
