Rolling Mill Setter / Operator (Cold Roll Forming)

Salary: £16.47 – £18.48 per hour (inclusive of 22% shift allowance)
Hours: 39 hours per week | Permanent, Full-Time
Shift Pattern: Rotating shifts

  • Week 1: Mon–Thu 6:00am–2:00pm | Fri 6:00am–1:00pm
  • Week 2: Mon–Thu 2:00pm–10:00pm | Fri 1:00pm–8:00pm

    Job Overview

    We are looking for an experienced Rolling Mill Setter / Operator with strong background in cold roll forming to join a busy manufacturing environment.

    You will be responsible for setting, operating, and maintaining roll forming machinery and presses, ensuring efficient production output, high-quality standards, and minimal downtime.

    This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong engineering knowledge, machine setting experience, and a background in fast-paced production environments.

    ⚙️ Key Responsibilities

    • Set and operate cold roll forming mills, presses, and production machinery
    • Carry out machine set-ups to achieve first-time quality production runs
    • Monitor production output and ensure target rates are achieved
    • Inspect finished parts to ensure compliance with quality standards
    • Troubleshoot and resolve basic machine issues during production
    • Complete production and quality documentation accurately
    • Maintain high standards of 5S housekeeping and cleanliness
    • Follow strict Health & Safety procedures at all times
    • Support continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives

      Required Experience

      • Minimum 5 years’ experience in cold roll forming / mill setting
      • Strong experience setting and operating roll forming equipment
      • Experience with presses and ancillary production machinery
      • Ability to read and work from engineering drawings (advantageous)
      • Strong understanding of production targets, quality control, and efficiency
      • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
      • Reliable, motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing setting

        ⭐ Desirable Experience

        • Press setting experience
        • Experience in metal fabrication or heavy manufacturing
        • Continuous improvement / lean manufacturing exposure
