An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated, highly experienced and passionate Physiotherapist to clinically work in the Prehabilitation and Surgical Team at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust, working alongside the Highly Specialist Physiotherapist. The post offers a variety of opportunities to participate in our exciting improvement plans and regular team trainings with the wider Respiratory team.
We are looking for an innovative, patient focused therapist with a passion for the management of patients with complex surgeries( including complex cancer surgeries) and providing highly skilled care to the Elective Surgical wards. You will have a wide range of clinical experience and the leadership qualities needed to support a team of physiotherapists/occupational therapists and integrated therapy assistants to consistently deliver safe, personal and effective care to our patients.
Main duties of the job
· To assist the Highly Specialist Physiotherapist occasionally working as a member of the Prehabilitation multidisciplinary team (MDT), attending the ward and wider MDTs, and attending prehabilitation clinics.
· To work as a member of the multidisciplinary team (MDT), assessing and treating inpatients in the colorectal surgical physiotherapy service with complex surgical and/or respiratory disability, maintaining accurate and comprehensive patient records.
· To assess and treat patients requiring physical rehabilitation both before and after complex surgeries and maintaining accurate and comprehensive patient records as per protocol for the Pre -Rehabilitation role
· To independently manage respiratory complications in surgical patients as required.
· To support the Highly Specialist Physiotherapist and in gathering and analysing information to facilitate small research projects and audits
