Summary
The service is cross- site located at two sites: The Birmingham Treatment Centre and Sandwell Health Campus. There is an expectation you are able to work at either campus as part of the role. To undertake pre-operative assessment of patients from a range of surgical specialties in a nurse led clinic environment. Preform protocol based examination and assessment of patients. Initiate and follow through investigations and referrals to other health care professionals according to agreed protocols. Commence necessary planning for perioperative care and ensure timely discharge. Maintain close liaison with staff concerned with planning and scheduling patient admissions. To work independently; autonomously and without direct supervision after completing recognised competencies. Regularly take charge of the clinical area in the absence of the person who has continuing responsibility or his/her deputy. Utilises and integrates evidence into practice. The post holder is required to be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. We run a Monday to Friday, 0730 - 1730 service and are closed on weekends and bank holidays.
