Summary

We are looking for a Prevention Customer Support Administrator to join Essex County Fire and Rescue Service at a pivotal time for our prevention work. This role sits at the beating heart of all our prevention activity, providing high‑quality, person‑centred support to both internal and external customers.

You will play a key role in enabling our teams to prevent fires and other emergencies, protect life, and keep communities safe. Your work will directly support our Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP) and our commitment to preventing fire and other emergencies through effective prevention and early intervention.

What You Will Be Working On

In this varied and rewarding role, you will:

Provide professional, proactive administrative support across the Prevention Department, enabling teams to deliver effective prevention activity
Act as a central point of contact for customers, colleagues and partners, offering person‑centred, inclusive and solution‑focused support
Coordinate and support Safe and Well visits, Fire Safety Visits and other prevention pathways, ensuring activity is prioritised and delivered effectively
Schedule, re‑schedule and manage appointments, balancing competing demands while maintaining high standards of service
Maintain accurate and timely records on CFRMIS and other systems to support performance, assurance and risk‑based decision making
Handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism, compassion and care
Support safeguarding processes and work in line with safeguarding principles to help protect vulnerable adults and children
Work collaboratively with colleagues, volunteers and partners, contributing positively as a trusted and reliable team player
Support the effective management of prevention resources, including safety equipment and literature
