Our Projects Lead role offers a rare opportunity to play a central role in ensuring Everybody is Fit for the Future - whether you’re an experienced projects professional or a recent graduate ready to launch your career.

Contract Term: 18-month fixed-term (secondment cover) with target start date of May/June 2026.
Location: Holmes Chapel (N.B. this role will require occasional travel, attending events, and working outside regular hours inc. evenings and weekends).
Hours: Full or part time available - 30-37 hrs per week
Salary: Career Grade G/H £30,020 - £36,497 (depending on experience)



What's exciting about the role?

Over the next 12–18 months, you’ll help coordinate circa £2m+ of investment projects, including:

Leisure centre facility investments
Launching new products and services, such as Padel
Supporting projects that enhance customer experience, operational efficiency and long-term sustainability

You’ll work closely with colleagues across the organisation, external partners and suppliers, gaining exposure to a broad and varied project portfolio with real, visible outcomes.

What will I be doing?

As Projects Lead you’ll be at the heart of project delivery, helping to ensure initiatives are well planned, well governed and well communicated. This includes:

Coordinating multiple projects from concept to delivery
Supporting business cases, plans, reporting and documentation
Monitoring progress, risks, budgets and milestones
Working with stakeholders to keep projects on track and aligned with strategic goals
Using digital tools to drive collaboration, structure and efficiency

What do I need for the role?

We’re open to candidates from different career stages and backgrounds. Whilst comparable experience is preferable, potential, attitude and capability are just as important!

This role would be an excellent opportunity for both:

Recent graduates with relevant academic and/or practical project experience eager to build strong foundations in project delivery through meaningful, hands-on experience; and
Experienced professionals with previous employment experience in a projects or coordination role, and looking for a role with autonomy, variety and the satisfaction of delivering high-impact projects.



You’ll gain exposure to senior stakeholders, see projects come to life, and play a key part in investments that benefit both customers and communities.

In addition, you’ll need:

A high level of computer literacy and ICT skills
Extensive Microsoft 365 knowledge and experience (e.g. Teams, Excel, SharePoint, Planner)
Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
The confidence to work with multiple stakeholders and priorities.
