Theatre Admission and Discharge Nurse/ Practitioner RN/ODP Band 5

The Queen Victoria Hospital Admissions and Discharge team pride ourselves on being part of a supportive multidisciplinary team with a long history of excellence.

A passionate approach to patient centred care is essential to managing our busy admission and discharge areas.

The admissions and discharge area is part of a complex dynamic perioperative suite managing a number of different specialities in major to minor reconstructive surgery.



Main duties are to offer a high standard of 1:1 care to our pre and post operative patients.

Surgical specialities include: Plastics, Maxillofacial, Ophthalmology, ENT, Burns, Hand Surgery and Trauma.

Rated GOOD overall with outstanding care by the CQC. A specialist NHS hospital providing life-changing reconstructive surgery, burns care and rehabilitation services across the South of England and beyond.

We specialise in conditions of the eyes (corneoplastics), hands, head and neck cancer and skin cancer, reconstructive breast surgery, maxillofacial surgery and prosthetics, providing regional and national services in these areas of clinical expertise. Our world-leading clinical teams also treat more common conditions of the eyes, hands, skin, and teeth for the people of East Grinstead and the surrounding areas. In addition, QVH provides a minor injuries unit, expert therapies, a sleep service, and a growing portfolio of community-based services. The post holder will work as part of a team to provide a safe, cost effective, efficient care environment for patients, relatives and carers.

They will participate in the training of junior staff and continue their own personal and professional development by rotating within the perioperative department.
