Summary
Title Practice Nurse Responsible to Practice Nurse Manager Objective To assess the nursing needs of patients and provide appropriate care/treatment adhering to practice policy and in accordance with NMC guidelines Duties The main duties are: Long term condition annual reviews for Diabetes and Asthma Cervical Cytology Childhood Immunisations Immunisations and Vaccinations Minor and Complex wound care / ulcer care Compression Dressings and Dopplers Removal of Sutures ECGs To document the process of assessment, need and delivery of care To adhere to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and Scope of Professional Practice following national, local and practice guidelines To attend study sessions in order to keep up to date with current trends To be willing to provide cover due to sickness or holiday To comply with the Data Protection Act and maintain confidentiality at all times To adhere to Practice policies for record keeping Any other duty appropriate to the role as requested by the Practice Nurse Manager This Job Description is a guide to the duties required and may be amended if circumstances change and following discussion with the post-holder.
