Summary

In this role, you will: Maintain Theatre Cleanliness & Standards Carry out cleaning of theatres and associated areas in line with Trust policies and infection control standards. Complete and record cleaning schedules accurately. Inspect areas to ensure standards are met and escalate any issues to the Theatre Coordinator. Support HCIA audits and contribute to continuous improvement. Support a Safe Environment Monitor theatre areas for environmental or safety issues and ensure faults are recorded and escalated. Complete Datix reports where required. Adhere to Health & Safety and infection control guidelines at all times. Equipment & Ancillary Area Cleaning Clean medical equipment according to manufacturers instructions and Trust procedures. Maintain cleanliness of storerooms, kitchens, and nonclinical fridges. Ensure all documentation and checklists are completed. Suction & Gas Cylinder Checks Replace and dispose of suction canisters safely. Check, store and replenish gas cylinders, ensuring adequate supply for daily theatre use. Report any irregularities or safety concerns promptly. Waste Management Work with portering and ancillary teams to ensure correct waste segregation and disposal. Support inspections of dirty returns areas and escalate concerns. Follow Trust protocols for sharps, needlestick incidents and body fluid contamination. Communication & Team Support Communicate effectively with theatre staff about cleanliness, safety, and environmental issues. Ensure concerns are escalated appropriately through the Theatre Coordinator. Training & Personal Development Participate in appraisal and maintain a personal development plan. Complete mandatory training and maintain competency with relevant equipment.
