About the role:
The Practice Supervisor (Quality) will lead on maintaining and developing high‑quality practice across the Moorlands setting. Working closely with managers and colleagues, the postholder will support reflective practice, quality assurance, and continuous improvement, ensuring children and families receive the absolute best support.
Key responsibilities will include:
Supporting and embedding high‑quality practice across the setting
Leading on quality assurance processes, monitoring, and evaluation
Providing reflective supervision and practice guidance to staff
Supporting professional development and practice improvement
Contributing to audits, action plans, and service development work
Deputise when the manager is out of the setting.
You will need:
An ability to safeguard and protect children.
To be positive, adaptable, and friendly
The right to work in the UK
An approved qualification in childcare and education with post qualification experience
The ability to provide effective feedback to early years practitioners.
About the Secondment
This is a part‑time opportunity, created as part of our commitment to:
developing leadership capacity within First Steps
offering staff opportunities to step into more senior roles
building skills, confidence and experience in quality leadership
The secondment will be supported with appropriate mentoring, and learning gained will be valuable both during and beyond the role.
