Summary
**Job Title: Warehouse Operative (Temporary - 4 Weeks. Potential for the 4-week contract to be extended (extension is not guaranteed))**
**Location: Lockerbie, Scotland**
**Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM (with a half-hour unpaid lunch break)**
**Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour, paid weekly (a week in lieu)**
**About the Role:**
We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for Warehouse Operatives to join their team based in Lockerbie for an initial term of 4 weeks. This role is perfect for individuals who are seeking a hands-on, fast-paced work environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for various warehouse duties, including using a barcode scanner to manage stock and maintain inventory.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Picking and packing products accurately and efficiently.
* Scanning items using a barcode scanner.
* Stock control, ensuring inventory levels are maintained.
* Assisting with the loading and unloading of deliveries.
* Ensuring all items are stored correctly and safely.
* General warehouse maintenance and cleanliness.
* Adhering to health and safety protocols at all times.
**Requirements:**
* Basic literacy and numeracy skills are essential.
* Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a team.
* Previous warehouse or logistics experience is desirable but not essential.
* A good level of physical fitness is required as the role involves manual handling.
* Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
* Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
**Training:**
* An induction will be provided on your first day, which is paid.
* You will receive full training on how to use the barcode scanner.
**Location:**
* Based in Lockerbie, conveniently located next to the train station, making it easily accessible for candidates from Lockerbie, Dumfries, and Carlisle.
**Pay and Benefits:**
* £12.71 per hour, paid weekly (a week in lieu).
* Full paid induction on the first day.
* Monday to Friday work schedule. 0900-15:30 - no weekends!
