Job Title: Senior Carer (UK)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Carer to provide high-quality, person-centred care within a regulated care setting. The successful candidate will support the delivery of safe and effective care while supervising care staff, promoting best practices, and ensuring compliance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards. This role requires strong leadership, compassion, and a commitment to maintaining the dignity and wellbeing of all service users.
Key Responsibilities:
Care Delivery:
Deliver and oversee high standards of person-centred care in line with individual care plans
Support service users with personal care, including washing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
Promote independence, choice, and dignity at all times
Assist with nutrition, hydration, and overall wellbeing
Medication & Clinical Support:
Administer and manage medications in accordance with company policies and training
Monitor and record vital signs and health conditions where required
Report and escalate any changes in service users’ health or behaviour
Leadership & Supervision:
Lead shifts and coordinate daily care activities
Supervise, support, and mentor Care Assistants and junior staff
Ensure staff adhere to care plans, policies, and procedures
Assist with staff training, inductions, and performance monitoring
Compliance & Safeguarding:
Ensure full compliance with CQC regulations, safeguarding policies, and health & safety standards
Identify and report safeguarding concerns promptly
Maintain accurate, clear, and up-to-date care documentation
Communication & Teamwork:
Liaise effectively with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies
Participate in handovers and team meetings to ensure continuity of care
Act as a key point of contact during shifts
Hygiene & Infection Control:
Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment
Follow infection prevention and control procedures at all times
Administrative Duties:
Complete care records, incident reports, and daily logs accurately
Support care planning and risk assessments
Assist with rota coordination and shift reporting where required
Qualifications & Requirements:
NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) – essential
Medication administration training
Previous experience in a senior or supervisory care role
Strong knowledge of CQC standards, safeguarding, and care regulations
Right to work in the UK
