This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills, gain recognised qualifications, and play a meaningful role in inclusive community programmes.
About the Role
As an apprentice, you'll support and help deliver a range of community-focused activities designed to improve health, wellbeing, and social connection. You'll be part of a welcoming and supportive team, working alongside experienced coaches and dedicated volunteers.
Key Responsibilities
Support our community-driven programmes, including:
- A weekly Sporting Memories dementia club
- A walking sports programme
- Love to Move sessions for individuals with cognitive conditions
- Assist coaches in delivering junior tennis, cricket, and hockey sessions, with the opportunity to gain Level 1 and Level 2 coaching qualifications
- Help develop and grow our schools outreach programme, working with local primary and secondary schools (with guidance from Head Coaches, progressing to leading the programme independently)
- Learn how to research and write grant applications to support new and existing community projects
- Contribute to the day-to-day running of the club, including reception, membership support, and front-of-house duties
What You'll Gain
- A nationally recognised Level 3 Community Activator Coach qualification
- Hands-on experience across coaching, community engagement, and programme development
- Mentorship from experienced professionals in a supportive environment
- Opportunities to build confidence, leadership skills, and a career in sport and community work
We welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds and experiences. You don't need to have all the skills yet-just a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
You might be:
- Passionate about sport, health, and community wellbeing
- A great communicator who enjoys working with people of all ages and abilities
- Reliable, organised, and eager to develop new skills
- Interested in making a positive impact in an inclusive environment
Our Commitment to Inclusion - We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome, respected, and valued. We actively encourage applications from individuals of all backgrounds, including those who may be underrepresented in sport and coaching.
