NO AGENCIES PLEASE You will provide expert scientific advice and assistance to clinical users of diagnostic radiology X-ray systems including writing and reviewing scientific and technical reports on equipment performance. You will be appointed as a diagnostic radiology medical physics expert to one or more hospitals and also contribute to the departments extensive teaching programme which includes delivery of the educational component of the Newcastle Modernising Scientific Careers Scientific Training Programme in Medical Physics. Depending on individual interests there will be opportunity to be involved in the wider work of the department including radiation safety and non-ionising radiation physics. Band 8a salary range: £57,528 - £64,750 per annum Performs a range of advanced healthcare science activities Participates in the teaching and training commitments of the Service Maintains and develops high standards of service provision throughout their area of responsibility Contributes to the development, implementation and monitoring of clinical and organisational strategies within area of expertise Initiates, in collaboration with the line manager, the development and delivery of research and development activities for healthcare advancement. Band 7 salary range: £49,387 - £56,515 per annum Perform a range of advanced healthcare science activities Provide highly specialist advice and training to staff within own area and other professionals. Be actively involved in research and development projects. Supervise and train less experienced staff and trainees.
