About the role
We are looking for a suitably experienced Assistant Team Manager to join the Children with Disability Review Team.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an established team, based at the Sandhill Centre.
We are seeking an Assistant Team Manager who has the skill, experience and drive to supervise, support and mentor a team of alternatively qualified social care practitioners. These practitioners carry a caseload of children and young people with complex needs and disability, most of whom access a care package of support. The team are required to regularly review these packages via assessment to determine whether the support remains proportionate and in line with the needs of the child and their family.
You will ensure the team completes focused assessments in a timely fashion whilst working closely with partner agencies to ensure the complex needs of children and young people are met. With proven experience in delivering statutory children’s social care services, you will have knowledge of social care children’s legislation and be confident in delivering best outcomes for children and young people. You must be a team player and be able to form positive relationships with colleagues and partner agencies.
You will have the passion and drive to ensure that children and young people in Sunderland achieve the best outcomes and receive high quality services. The postholders primary focus is the allocation and oversight of work within the team, providing supervision, quality assurance and if/when required, manage a small caseload

Educated to degree level with appropriate professional Social Work qualification i.e. CSS/CQSW or DipSW, MA SW, BA Hons SW and completion of ASYE first year.
Current Social Work England Registration.
