Summary

Catering Menu Clerk
Band 2 - 15 hours per week

The catering clerkis responsible for processing all patient menu cards, for producing various reports for the kitchen supervisors, for recording and documenting information relating to patient catering and for keeping all information held on the catering IT system accurate and up-to-date.


The catering clerk is required to work closely with the kitchen supervisors and to liaise on a daily basis with wards. The catering clerk is also required to assist and cover in respect to raising purchase orders and receipting orders.

The primary role of an NHS Menu Clerk (sometimes called a Catering Clerk) is to manage the end-to-end process of patient meal ordering to ensure every patient receives the correct nutrition safely and on time
