Summary

Our client is seeking an Occupational Disease Paralegal to join its Claimant Personal Injury team in Newcastle.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded team with a strong reputation for the quality of its work, particularly in the field of serious injury claims. Although the firm has a strong regional presence, it acts for injured clients across the country.

The Role
You will join the Occupational Disease team, assisting on claimant matters involving military noise damage claims.

Key duties will include:

- Assisting with case preparation from the outset through to the issuing of Court
proceedings
- Requesting, collating and reviewing documentary evidence, including detailed
review of medical records
- Assisting with the instruction of Counsel and expert witnesses, and liaising with
other professionals
- Supporting other team members and taking a proactive approach to achieving the
best possible outcome for clients
- Managing tasks effectively and helping to progress cases in a timely and
organised manner

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

- At least 12 months experience as a Paralegal in Claimant Personal Injury litigation,
preferably within Occupational Disease
- The ability to follow detailed instructions and work with minimal supervision
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a task diary effectively
- The ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines and cope well under pressure
- Good communication and IT skills
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong work ethic
- A flexible and proactive approach

There may be rare occasions where some work outside core hours is required.
