Hull College is seeking an ambitious and forward‑thinking Assistant Principal – Apprenticeships to lead one of the College’s most critical and fast‑growing areas.

This is a high‑impact senior leadership role, responsible for shaping the College’s apprenticeship and growth and skills portfolio to meet the needs of learners, employers and the regional economy. Make a Real Impact

As Assistant Principal, you will provide strategic leadership across all apprenticeship and growth and skills provision, whether delivered directly through specialist teams or via a distributed model across Institutes and Faculties.

You will:


Drive outstanding quality, teaching, learning and assessment aligned to Ofsted and OfS expectations
Lead income growth, commercial performance and funding compliance
Build strong, credible partnerships with employers, commissioners and key stakeholders
Ensure provision aligns to local, regional and devolved priorities including MCA and LSIP
Develop and inspire managers, teachers, coaches and technical staff to strive for excellence
Promote inclusion, wellbeing and high expectations so every learner can succeed
Champion innovation, agility and continuous improvement across the Faculty


This is a role for a leader who can balance strategic vision with operational excellence, who is confident challenging underperformance, and who is passionate about building provision that delivers real economic and social impact.


About You

You will be an experienced and credible senior leader with:


A strong track record of leading apprenticeship and/or skills provision
Deep understanding of funding, compliance, quality and performance management
Proven success in employer engagement, partnerships and commercial delivery
The ability to inspire, motivate and hold teams to account
A commitment to fairness, respect, equality, diversity, inclusion and safeguarding
The ambition to help Hull College become one of the UK’s leading education provider
