We are looking for an enthusiastic and forward thinking Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our Rehabilitation and Recovery service based at Grove Avenue.

Grove Avenue is mixed gender rehabilitation unit for service users with a primary diagnosis of psychosis, and is part of Steps to Recovery. Grove Avenue provides rehabilitation in an unlocked facility for patients who are either receiving treatment under Section 3 of the Mental Health Act, or informal patients.

We offer a specialist service within a rehabilitation environment primarily for people with severe and enduring mental health problems and associated behaviours that require a period of in-patient support. A full range of multi-disciplinary assessments and treatment interventions are offered which have been developed using evidence based best practice to offer an effective service to service users, collaborating with families and carers. The service aims to provide appropriate therapeutic engagement to reduce symptoms of illness, improve service user social functioning, quality of life moving forward and assisting service users to achieve their recovery goals and aspirations for the future.

You will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of rehabilitation interventions including upskilling and improving ADL, social & financial and budgeting skills, physical and mental health interventions for service users who will have a diagnosis of complex psychosis. Support and guidance with housing & accommodation, recreational and vocational interventions.

As the OT in the team, you will have responsibility to assess and develop OT interventions, using a range of assessment and guidelines, including MOHOST and formulations.

You will have the direct support of a Band 7 Lead OT, OT Consultant, other OT S2R staff across the service and activity coordinator.
