Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a full time Respiratory Clinical Research Fellow to the Department of Respiratory Medicine. The clinical duties of this post will be based Trust wide incorporating the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital (NSECH), Wansbeck General Hospital (WGH), North Tyneside General Hospital (NTGH) and Hexham General Hospital (HGH).
The Clinical Research Fellow will receive both clinical training in respiratory and provide clinical support for a portfolio of clinical respiratory research.

This post is best suited to candidates who have completed Foundation Training. The role and responsibility’s will be adjusted according to prior experience. The fellow will provide medical support within the Clinical Research Department (CRD) for high profile clinical trials. They will work within a supportive, multidisciplinary team of research nurses, Principle Investigators, clinical trial pharmacists and study co-ordinators. They will gain experience and training in all aspects of clinical research delivery, including: study set up, recruitment, consent, pharmacovigilance, investigations, research governance and follow-up of patients. They will receive the necessary training to enable you to deliver clinical research; prior experience is not essential.

The post will allow us to improve our current inpatient and outpatient provision. The successful candidates will be given full training at SpR level in a broad spectrum of Respiratory, both on our acute Respiratory wards and in outpatients
