Job Description: Trainee Healthcare Recruitment Consultant
Role Overview
As a Trainee Healthcare Recruitment Consultant, you will play a key role in supporting the staffing of healthcare organisations by sourcing, screening, and placing high‑quality clinical and non‑clinical professionals. You’ll receive full training in healthcare compliance, candidate generation, client management, and sales techniques. This is a fast‑paced, people‑focused role where you’ll learn how to build a desk, manage urgent vacancies, and deliver exceptional service to both candidates and clients.

Key Responsibilities
Candidate Management
• Source healthcare professionals (HCAs, Support Workers, RGNs, RMNs, AHPs, etc.) through job boards, social media, referrals, and networking
• Conduct detailed screening calls to assess experience, availability, and compliance requirements
• Support candidates through the full registration process (DBS, references, training, right‑to‑work)
• Maintain accurate and compliant records on the CRM
• Match candidates to suitable shifts or vacancies and manage their ongoing availability
• Provide aftercare and maintain strong candidate relationships
Client Development
• Assist senior consultants with NHS and private sector client engagement
• Understand client needs, shift patterns, staffing challenges, and service expectations
• Support vacancy intake calls and help prioritise urgent requirements
• Provide timely updates to clients regarding candidate submissions, compliance status, and shift confirmations
• Deliver excellent customer service to ensure repeat business
Sales & Business Development
• Learn and apply sales techniques relevant to healthcare recruitment (warm calling, shift filling, relationship building)
• Identify new business opportunities within NHS Trusts, care homes, private hospitals, and community services
• Contribute to meeting weekly KPIs such as candidate registrations, shift fills, and client outreach
• Support rate negotiations and discussions around margins and frameworks
Compliance & Administration
• Ensure all candidates meet strict healthcare compliance standards
• Process and track DBS checks, mandatory training, references, and occupational health documents
• Maintain accurate audit‑ready files in line with NHS framework requirements
• Follow company processes, safeguarding policies, and industry regulations
