Summary
General Science Teacher – Flexible short-term and long-term opportunities available immediately
These flexible opportunities are ideal for teachers who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different secondary school settings. You will be supporting pupils in Stevenage and the surrounding areas, delivering engaging and effective Science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
Duties as General Science Teacher:
- Deliver engaging Science lessons using provided plans
- Teach practical and theory-based content across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
- Support pupils in developing scientific enquiry, reasoning, and investigative skills
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs of mixed-ability learners
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
- Assess and record pupil progress when required
- Contribute to departmental planning during longer-term placements
- Promote curiosity, enthusiasm, and confidence in Science learning
Ideal General Science Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Strong subject knowledge across all Science disciplines
- Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
- Ability to motivate and inspire pupils across Key Stages
- Adaptable across different school environments and teaching requirements
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
