Summary

The Medical Receptionist will welcome assist and direct patients in a friendly and efficient manner. The role supports the practice team in delivering high quality patient care. Duties include face to face contact telephone communication and general administrative tasks to ensure the smooth day to day running of the practice. Main Duties and Responsibilities Provide an effective and efficient reception service for patients and visitors Greet patients check them in and support them with practice processes Answer incoming telephone calls take accurate messages and pass them on promptly Manage patient enquiries with professionalism care and sensitivity Book amend and cancel appointments using the practice clinical system Explain practice procedures to new patients and support with patient registration Process repeat prescription requests in line with practice policies Record home visit requests accurately and pass details to the duty doctor Maintain clear accurate and up to date patient records on the clinical system File correspondence reports and test results in the correct patient records Support patients with online services and provide basic system guidance Help maintain a clean safe and welcoming reception and waiting area Assist with light kitchen duties and ensure shared areas remain tidy Open the practice when first to arrive and prepare reception for the day Close the practice when last to leave ensuring safety and security Register new patients accurately and efficiently Carry out any reasonable duties requested by Managers or GP Partners Confidentiality The post holder will maintain strict patient confidentiality at all times. All information will be handled in accordance with practice policies and data protection legislation. Health and Safety The post holder will follow all health and safety guidance attend mandatory training report risks and incidents and comply fully with infection control procedures while maintaining a safe working environment.
