Role: Agricultural Engineering Lecturer

Hours: up to full-time (37.5h per week)
Salary: Up to £35,496 plus industry enhancement (pro-rata for part-time)
Plumpton College is the leader of land and environment education in the Southeast, renowned for our outstanding cutting-edge practice and ability to align delivery to meet the needs of industry. Our Agricultural Engineering provision is in a period of significant growth as we develop new programmes to enable students to develop advanced technical skills and professional behaviours to meet needs of industry. Having launched a successful new Level 3 Agricultural Engineering programme this year, and with a Level 3 apprenticeship programme planned for launch later this year, supporting employers in agricultural, horticultural, land-based and plant engineering, we are now seeking to recruit a highly qualified Agricultural Engineering Lecturer on a permanent full-time or part-time basis.
Successful candidates will have the opportunity to deliver effective teaching, learning & assessment and support agricultural engineering students, helping them to maximise their potential and make positive progress towards their timely success, future study, and employment. You will be able to inspire and motivate, through the application of your industry and technical expertise, making a significant contribution to the success of our vocational programmes and the future careers of our learners.
The ideal candidate will be Degree or Level 3 qualified, and will demonstrate up-to-date advanced technical knowledge and skills in agricultural, horticultural, or land-based machinery. You may already possess teaching experience and qualifications or have experience of working with apprentices or students within your workplace. For those looking to start their teaching career, we welcome applications from new graduates. We deliver an in-house teacher training programme through which new teachers can achieve a recognised Level 4 - 6 teaching qualification. Whatever your experience, you will be a professional, hardworking, and confident team-player who is passionate about what you do.
With growing student numbers, excellent resources and a drive for continuous improvement, Plumpton College is actively seeking staff who want to make a difference and be part of this exciting phase of our development. At Plumpton College we are Ambitious & Progressive, Enterprising, Professional, Supportive and Passionate about everything we do – if you share these values and would like to be part of our growing team then we’d like to hear from you.
Benefits
As well as a competitive salary, you can also look forward to a great range of benefits including: up to 37 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata), and up to 5 efficiency days at Christmas; membership of the Teachers' Pension Scheme; comprehensive CPD and teacher training (where applicable); TOTUM card; Employee Assistance Programme; free onsite parking; discounted Plumpton wine; staff discounts on Plumpton courses; free eye tests; cycle to work scheme; and free use of the onsite gym.
