About the role…
As a Trenchless Operations Supervisor you will work closely with the operational team, managing engineers, technicians, vehicles, plant and equipment to ensure excellent service delivery. You will oversee day‑to‑day activities, ensuring safe, efficient working practices and timely completion of work.
You will be responsible for carrying out site audits, monitoring performance and ensuring compliance with Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental standards. This role requires strong leadership, active problem solving and regular communication with internal teams, clients and subcontractors.
Your responsibilities will include:
Day‑to‑day management of engineers, technicians, vehicles and equipment
Monitoring operational performance, safety and quality
People management duties including return‑to‑work interviews and investigations
Ensuring vehicles, plant and equipment are operated and maintained correctly
Implementing and auditing company policies and improvement action plans
Supporting pre‑site and pre‑planning activities with the management team
Ensuring all incidents are reported and investigated
Identifying and resolving issues quickly before escalation
Liaising with clients including participation in client audits
Monitoring subcontractor performance
Maintaining strong communication and resolving issues early
About you…
Desired qualifications:
Previous experience and/or qualifications within the Utilities or Drainage industry
Full driving licence
Desired knowledge and experience:
Proven experience in a Supervisor role within the Utilities sector, ideally Drainage
Experience in customer service or working in customer‑focused environments
Professional approach with strong verbal and numerical reasoning
Working knowledge of Health and Safety
Knowledge of waste network operations and related processes
IT literacy with confidence in Microsoft Office
Experience supporting personal development within a team
Ability to lead by example
Ability to build collaborative relationships with clients and suppliers
Skills and personal qualities:
Strong communication skills at all levels
Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines
Professional and positive approach
Self‑motivated, organised and proactive
Flexible attitude with the ability to adapt to operational needs
Team player capable of working independently when needed
