Summary

Production Operative - Garment Preparation

Newton Abbot | £13 per hour | Monday-Friday day shifts (hours tbc) | Temporary to Permanent

Introduction

We are looking for a reliable Production Operative with strong attention to detail to join a garment preparation team. This role involves preparing clothing items for production, ensuring machines are correctly set up, and assisting with finishing and packing customer orders.

Key Duties
  • Prepare garments for production, including loading correct thread colours and needles into machinery.
  • Set up and support embroidery and heat press machines.
  • Operate heat press equipment to apply transfers and designs.
  • Ensure all materials and components are ready for production runs.
  • Carry out quality checks on finished garments to ensure high standards are met.
  • Pack and prepare orders for dispatch.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in clothing, textiles, or a similar production environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with embroidery machines and/or heat transfer techniques highly desirable.
  • Good manual dexterity and comfortable with hands-on tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Ability to work efficiently independently and as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
