Summary

Guide Communicators
· Flexibility and an excellent work/life balance. You can benefit from choosing your own hours of work, to suit around your schedule
· Minimum rate of £13.45p/h plus mileage
· 23 days Annual Leave plus 6 Public Holidays
· Both sessional and fixed hour contracts available. Minimum of 7 hours guaranteed work per week
· Part time or full time roles. Work during the day, in evenings, split shifts and weekends available
· Funded SVQs, Deafblind Manual and British Sign Language courses. Various other training opportunities available.
· Support to register with the SSSC and PVG scheme
· Access to Health Assured plan and Wellbeing offers
· Access to work for BSL Interpreters available for Deaf employees
· We welcome drivers with own car or those happy to utilise public transport

Deafblind Scotland are recruiting Guide/Communicators with British Sign Language (BSL) skills to work within Inverclyde to support deafblind adults to live independent lives and maintain links within their communities. Guide/Communicators support deafblind adults in the areas of communication, information, and mobility. At Deafblind Scotland we are committed to lifelong support and as our service users age there may be some elements of personal care required.

We require employees to have a satisfactory level of written English and effective communication skills to support individuals with hearing loss.
Full training in Guiding and Communication Tactics is provided. No experience necessary but is beneficial.
