Summary
We require a Personal Assistant/Carer for a 35 year old man who sustained a brain injury at the age of 2 which has left him with learning difficulties and epilepsy but he is fully physically able and enjoys swimming, gym, football and snooker as well as Playstation games and watching DVD's, shopping and going for a coffee.
Duties would be to deal with seizure activity, help with his social skill difficulties when out, help him with IT and Playstation knowledge, help him find new social activities/outlets to ad to his present ones.
We are happy for you to include him in some of your own family/social activities should you want to.
This is not just a standard carer's role and if you have enthusiasm, inventiveness, a good sense of humour and a caring patient nature you should get a great deal of job satisfaction making a difference to this man's life.
If you have experience in any of the following this would be a bonus but is not essential as training would be given;
Brain Injury Coaching
Epilepsy
Speech & Language Training
Social Skill Training
Life Skill Training
General Teaching.
Hours are flexible and part time from as little as 4 to as many as 25 per week.
Car driver with valid Driving licence is desirable and applicants will be subject to a
Disclosure and Barring Service check prior to starting the position which the employer will pay for.
This position is not open for sponsorship of overseas workers.
