Summary
The regional epilepsy service at UHB is nationally renowned in providing care, for people with epilepsy, both newly diagnosed and long-standing. The service includes a complex epilepsy surgery programme (resective and VNS pathways), regional genetics, neuropsychiatry and neuropsychology services. The service spans the age spectrum, with a dedicated transition service run jointly with Birmingham Children's Hospital. There are specialist clinics covering neuro-immunology, neuro-oncology, intellectual disability and tuberous sclerosis. Fellows will gain additional experience from the joint obstetric service (Birmingham Women's Hospital) and the regional sleep medicine service at the Barberry.
