TeacherActive is proud to be working with a Pupil Referral Unit and specialist SEND provisions in South Gloucester that support pupils with complex needs. These settings provide a structured and supportive environment, focusing on behaviour management, emotional regulation and helping pupils re-engage with education in a safe and consistent way.
The school is looking to appoint a 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long term basis. The successful 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant will work closely with an individual pupil aged 11–16, supporting SEMH, EBD, ADHD and challenging behaviour, using a calm and consistent approach to build trust and promote positive outcomes.
The successful 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant will have:
• A minimum of 6 months experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour
• Experience within PRU, SEND, alternative provision or youth work settings
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A patient, resilient and nurturing approach
• A commitment to supporting pupil development and wellbeing
