Summary
1.2 Main responsibilities The post holder will support the Consultant Psychiatrists and multidisciplinary team in delivering high-quality care within the Psychiatric Liaison Service. Working both independently and collaboratively, they will contribute to clinical decision-making, supervise junior colleagues, and liaise with health and social care professionals. The role involves direct patient care for adults in crisis and engagement with families, as well as coordination with external mental health services and acute hospitals. The post holder will also be expected to take a lead on emergency Mental Health Act assessments of adult/older adult patients subject to Section 136 presenting within the liaison setting during working hours. You will work alongside 1.4 wte General Adult Consultant Psychiatrists (Dr Gavin McKay, Dr Simona Ionita and Dr Sally Daly), 1.6wte Old Age Consultant Psychiatrist (Dr Stephen O’Connor, and Dr Gareth Smith), one higher Trainee in older adult team and a Core trainee in the general adult team.
