Summary
We are looking for an experienced Sous Chef to support kitchen operations across care homes and educational settings. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys cooking nutritious meals and wants to make a real difference to people’s daily lives.
Position Overview:
Role: Sous Chef
Location: London
Pay: from £18.00 per hour
Shifts: Various shifts available (flexible scheduling)
Key Responsibilities:
• Supporting the day-to-day running of the kitchen
• Preparing and cooking fresh, healthy meals
• Making sure all food meets dietary and nutritional requirements
• Supervising kitchen staff and helping them work as a team
• Keeping high standards of food safety and hygiene
• Helping plan menus and manage stock
• Checking food quality and portion sizes
• Keeping the kitchen clean, organised, and safe
• Assisting during busy service times
Requirements:
• Experience as a Sous Chef or senior chef in a professional kitchen
• Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
• Experience cooking for care homes or schools is a strong advantage
• DBS Enhanced
• Ability to lead and support a team
• Good organisation and time management skills
• Understanding of special diets and nutritional needs
• Calm and reliable, even during busy periods
