Placements Officer - Grade 4

Description
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Placements Officer to join our team at Grade 4 level. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between education and employment, ensuring students and graduates secure meaningful placement opportunities that support their career development.

The successful candidate will play a key role in fostering relationships with employers, coordinating placement programmes, and providing guidance to candidates throughout the placement process. This is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact on the futures of aspiring professionals.

Key Objectives

Facilitate and manage placement opportunities for students and graduates.
Build and maintain strong partnerships with employers and industry stakeholders.
Support candidates with advice and resources to maximise their placement success.
Ensure the effective administration and monitoring of placement schemes.
Responsibilities

Develop and maintain relationships with a diverse range of employers to secure placement opportunities.
Coordinate and promote placement programmes, ensuring clear communication with students and employers.
Provide one-to-one guidance and support to candidates applying for placements, including CV advice and interview preparation.
Manage the application, selection, and placement processes efficiently and fairly.
Monitor and evaluate placement outcomes, collecting feedback from participants and employers.
Collaborate with academic departments and career services to align placement activities with curriculum needs.
Maintain accurate records and produce reports on placement activities and performance metrics.
Stay informed of labour market trends to advise on relevant placement opportunities.
Requirements

Proven experience in placements coordination, career services, or a related field.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with employers, students, and colleagues.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with data management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge of the current labour market and employer engagement strategies.
Ability to provide impartial and supportive career advice.

Qualifications

A relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification.
Experience working within higher education or a similar environment is desirable.
Training or certification in career guidance or counselling is an advantage.
